Jon Caldwell has served as the SVP, Chief People Officer of Valvoline Inc. since 2020. In this role, he is responsible for the strategic direction and leadership of all aspects the company’s people strategy, corporate communications and project management. His efforts ensure Valvoline has the organizational culture and talent management programs in place to attract, develop and retain a corporate and retail workforce of nearly 12,000 people. Caldwell has extensive experience setting strategy, advising leadership, strengthening culture and developing teams. Upon joining Valvoline in 2016, he has been promoted to increasing levels of leadership, building Valvoline’s talent acquisition and organizational development functions from the ground up immediately after the company went public. Prior to Valvoline, he spent 17 years in progressive human resources and talent management roles with Fifth Third Bancorp, US Bancorp and Meritor Inc. He serves on the board of directors for Commerce Lexington and The Hope Center, a Lexington, KY non-profit that provides services to those recovering from substance abuse and mental health disorders, and homelessness. Caldwell holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Eastern Kentucky University and a master’s degree in business administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati. He and his wife, Joy, have three young college-aged/young adult children.
