Detailed info

Jim Vitek has helped several of the largest restaurant brands leverage technology for digital commerce and operational efficiency. With a software engineering background and a passion for customer experience, Jim typically focuses on needs where a software product should be built (vs bought). Jim was with Domino’s Pizza from 1995-2011. During this time he started the NextGen Store Solution initiative which built a Domino’s-specific POS on top of a codebase acquired from a vendor, and later rebranded as the Domino’s Pulse system still in use at the chain. Jim later established the Emerging Technology function that created the Pizza Tracker, and as VP eCommerce led the insourced build of the Domino’s eCommerce engine, Dominos.com, and the iPhone app. Later, Jim joined forces with QuikOrder, an online ordering supplier to several major pizza chains. During this time he launched a nextgen omni-channel restaurant commerce platform (Digital+POS), and helped the company get acquired by Pizza Hut/Yum. Following the acquisition, Jim joined Yum as VP Digital Commerce and leveraged the nextgen QuikOrder stack as the starting point for the Yum Commerce Platform. Partnering with the brands, this stack has been deployed by KFC (US) for eCommerce, Taco Bell as their NextGen POS, and is still deploying to other brands/markets. Jim left Yum at the end of 2022, refreshed with a sabbatical, and is currently working on the next big thing in stealth mode.
