I am an entrepreneur and technology evangelist who finds the passion and fun in using technology to power a world-class digital education that delivers life-changing outcomes for learners. As the founding Chief Technology Officer at 2U, Inc., I work to design and manage an innovative, efficient, and sustainable technology infrastructure that creates access for students and faculty in 2U-powered programs to embark on their learning journeys within a secure and scalable platform. I believe great education isn’t based on test scores, readings, or assignments–great education should be based on the intimate experiences students have with faculty and peers. Rooted in this belief, I continually strive to find ways to leverage the power of technology to create purpose-built learning and teaching tools that build an engaging and interactive digital classroom. These efforts have led to the inception of 2UOS, our proprietary operating system that delivers an up-close and personal learning experience between students and faculty from anywhere, at anytime. I thrive in settings where I am surrounded by light bringers, magic makers, world shifters, and game shakers from all walks of life. I have always been a huge proponent of forming and empowering diverse teams whose members challenge and uplift each other, which I feel ultimately results in making better products, creating better solutions, and helping companies succeed.I take great pride in my heritage and family, my ability to cook up obscure analogies for some of the world’s simplest problems, and my constant pursuit of finding things where I wouldn’t feel like I’m riding a bicycle.
