Detailed info

I am an ardent serial entrepreneur who now advises companies and organizations on how to grow to a successful exit and how to become the market leader in a competitive industry segment. I have over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, first as a management consultant and then as a founding CEO of successful start-up ventures. My passion lies in strategic market analysis, building strong teams around quality products and capabilities, and honing business models that drive toward great outcomes. I enjoy working with highly motivated, ethical people who want to win.

My startup ventures covered many dimensions: Enterprise SaaS, SEO-leading consumer media, AI components NLP and ML, scalable work flow solutions, and efficient company operations. My strengths include board management, creating effective advisory boards and teams, establishing novel performance reward systems, developing investor networks, and raising capital. I believe in tracking to profitability and strong margins through multi-year contracts and high customer retention, and getting it done.

Company Overviews: Healthline Networks (2005-2015), as a rich content media company, targeted online health information seekers with empathetic quality content and unique-to-market online applications (drug search, symptom search, etc.) Our revenue per pageviews led the entire online market through our life science industry partners. Using advanced NLP technology, we also designed and delivered search-based applications to leading health plans and providers. Healthline became a profitable, high growth company that we sold to a top tier private equity firm, Summit Partners.

Talix (2016-2021) delivered SaaS solutions to the fast-growing value based care market. We targeted both health plans and provider groups and systems using innovative AI-supported workflow applications. Competing with large incumbent players as well as start-ups, we focused on building a best in class business solution that encompassed advanced technologies, customer success, partnerships and innovative pricing to win. In 2021, TA Associates and Francisco Partners acquired Talix.

Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, I spent over a dozen years in Deloitte’s management consulting practice, with half that time as a principal. Much of that time was spent in building new organizations and sub-divisions for leading healthcare companies facing managed care competition.

Fun Fact: I lead fly fishing trips to Alaska where the lodging is $45.00 per night.
