David Sakamoto is a four-time builder of customer success organizations, known for scaling teams and systems that predictably deliver customer outcomes and drive durable revenue growth. At GitLab, he led the global Customer Success organization from $50M to $655M in ARR, expanding the team from 40 to more than 325 across Sales Engineering, Professional Services, CSMs, Renewals, and Education, and supporting the company’s IPO with 152% net revenue retention and 97% logo retention. He has also served as SVP of Customer Success at Veza and Head of Customer Success at Cisco for its subscription software products. David specializes in building company-wide success practices with deeply integrated, end-to-end lifecycle motions embedded within the GTM engine—and outside of work, he enjoys tacos and staying humbled on the jiu-jitsu mat.
