Doug Saunders is a technology executive with over 25 years of experience leading enterprise innovation, digital strategy, and AI-driven operational improvements for multi-billion-dollar companies and private equity portfolio organizations. As Chief Technology Officer at Sara Lee Frozen Bakery, he leads the company’s technology transformation, modernizing core systems, scaling infrastructure, advancing digital and analytics capabilities, and aligning technology strategy with business and private equity objectives to drive operational efficiency, growth, and enterprise value. Previously, Doug served as CIO of Arctic Glacier, a Carlyle portfolio company, where he led enterprise-wide transformation and contributed to a successful strategic exit in 2026, driving significant EBITDA growth through AI, IoT, and advanced analytics initiatives, including AI-powered order automation that reduced call center staffing by 75% and generated more than $3.5M annually, IoT-enabled logistics optimization that delivered approximately $6M in value, and an enterprise PMO overseeing more than 30 initiatives that generated over $16M in annualized impact. Throughout his career, Doug has supported more than 100 acquisitions through due diligence, systems integration, and scalable technology platforms, while building repeatable M&A integration capabilities that accelerate value capture and minimize disruption. He is also passionate about developing future leaders and fostering cultures of trust, transparency, and collaboration. Doug holds a degree in Political Science and Russian History from the University of Alabama, was named the 2024 Florida CIO of the Year through the ORBIE Awards, and is a finalist for the 2026 National CIO of the Year.
